POW. Insects have got it going ON in the nutrition department, we’d even go as far to say they ARE the department.
Crickets can reach up to 75g of protein per 100g, not many other ingredients can say that. Crickets could enter the ring with cows, pigs and chickens and still reign champion – not bad for the little guy.
So insects pack the protein punch, but the are also rich in other essential nutrients such as iron, calcium, omegas 3&6, zinc, magnesium, and vitamin B12 to help press the POWER button on your day.
Fibre is an essential part of anyone’s diet and – armed with a chitin filled exoskeleton – insects are a fantastic source of the stomach lovin’ good stuff!

With all of that good stuff you might be wondering why insects aren’t already in your basket, but wait… there’s more. Insects aren’t only delicious AND nutritious, they are also environmentally positive!
We said earlier that nutritionally crickets could enter the ring with cows and still come out on top, but when it comes to sustainability insects wipe the FLOOR with any other snacky rivals. You might want to hold onto your pants for this one, it’s about to get wild.
For 1kg of protein from crickets it takes just ONE litre of water. To produce 1kg of protein from cows it requires TWENTY THOUSAND litres of water… now that is one soggy burger! Below we have more evidence as to why insects are the future, so go ahead blow your mind and celebrate the power of the cricket.

GREENHOUSE GASES
Traditional livestock farming produces more greenhouse gas emissions worldwide than cars do. Insect farming is a far more efficient way to get our protein fix!
SMART LAND UTILISATION
Traditional meat production uses 70% of the planet’s cultivable land. Rearing insects can be a far more efficient alternative as they can be farmed vertically.
LESS RESOURCES USED
Insects require just a fraction of the land, water and feed in comparison to traditional livestock, for the same amount of protein. They can also be farmed in virtually any climate or environment!
