From the superb 1997 vintage, this stunning vintage Champagne is one hundred% Pinot Noir. Medium yellow colour, with a sprinkling of tiny bubbles rising incessantly around the glass. Lovely bruised apple and pear fruit, with a hint of peach and strawberry, but quite a lot of oxidised, minerality. Lovely, mouthfilling wine with a rather wealthy, but still crisp and racy mousse, and a hint of real ripeness and depth to the fruit. Lovely toffeed edge to the finish, with the crisp mineral and lemon acidity cutting through. Drink now – 2028. A really perfect gift.
