Right through one of our many trips around Europe we determined to take a break in a small village at the bottom of Tatra mountains. We stopped in a local bar and ate wonderful food followed by delicious coffee. When we were ready to leave the waitress gave us a local spirit to prepare us for a cold weather waiting for us outside. After first sip we fell absolutely in love! It had a unique aroma that we never tasted before. We asked: “Where did you get such an exquisite drink?!”. This is how we came around to visiting a small distillery in the midst of the mountains close by. It was the most modern distiller in this part of Europe! Alternatively, this did not stop them from following hundreds of years old traditions and recipes. We were invited for an improbable tour. Obviously, our visit could end without a tasting session!
