A wonderful mix of raw, certified organic honeys from beekeeper Antonio from the Sierra del Rincon UNESCO Biosphere Reserve – a haven for nature where no pesticides, herbicides or fungicides are allowed. This set also makes a perfect gift for anyone with a sweet tooth and interest in prime quality all natural, raw honeys. It comes complete with a honey dipper, photo of Antonio and the story at the back of the honey and this 4th generation beekeeper. Raw Organic Wild Lavender honey is a light and pleasing herb flower honey, it has floral notes and a creaminess like vanilla – but doesn’t have moderately as strong a flavour as honey from cultivated lavender. Raw Organic Oak honey is a very deep and rich tasting tree honey; it has a fruitiness in addition to a deep woody flavour. Tree honey tends to be dark, have a stronger flavour and are less likely to set as a result of a reasonably low glucose content. Raw Organic Heather honey is an amazingly intense, deep tasting shrub honey; it has a depth of flavour with a pronounced bitterness similar to dark chocolate or black tea. It comes from the bees feeding on the low lying heather shrubs frequently on mountainous terrain. Heather is a favourite plant of bees. Despite not being a tree, heather honey has properties of a tree honey, namely its potent taste and dark colour.
