In the 1850s, Jakob Baumberger, a successful brewer, founded a distillery in the Swiss town of Langenthal. Even as the circle of relatives’s business in brewing prospered, they in the end were forced to close the distillery as a result of war time rationing measures. The ban on the distillation of grain and potatoes used to be not repealed until 1999, and with that Hans Baumberger, Jakob’s great-grandson, made up our minds to pursue his ancestor’s distilling dream. Starting on a small scale, Hans Baumberger distilled his first spirit in 2005. Langatun have quickly gained a firstclass reputation for their sherry and wine cask matured Swiss Whisky. The team on the Langatun are big fans of cigars, so it used to be only natural for them to create a Single Malt specifically to enjoy alongside your favourite cigar. The Langatun Cigar Malt is a marriage of Chardonnay and Fino Sherry casks bottled at 45.6%. Even and not using a cigar to hand this single malt will delight. 45.6% / 500ml
