Created by Highland Park’s master whisky maker, Gordon Motion, this whisky is based totally around five refill casks that were in the beginning laid down before 1979. These were brought in combination in 2008 and filled into first-fill sherry seasoned casks so as to add depth of character and layers of richness over an additional ten years of maturation.
Offficial Tasting Notes
Soft berry fruits and dark chocolate harmonised with notes of silky vanilla, sun-dried orange zest and a warming hint of freshly grated nutmeg. Fully rounded, with an extended finish wearing waves of aromatic smoke from Orkney’s unique heathery peat.
